What We've Done

We celebrated our 10th Anniversary in 2023

  • Purchased 30 beds for the new nursing home (Villa Renaissance) that were not funded by the government in the move to the new facility

  • Paid for the making of a stain glass window for the Chapel

  • Set up area for a Bistro to operate

  • Acquired outdoor/patio furniture for each garden area

  • Financed the landscaping around the nursing home

  • Picked out Christmas presents for each of the residents for the last seven years

  • Obtained a bariatric body scale

  • Procured a bladder tester

  • Organized events in which our residents and their guests could celebrate together

  • Collaborated with the town in organizing a parade to honour our health care workers during the pandemic 2021

  • Created and continue to manage a “In Memoriam” fund. Donations can be made in memory of a loved one, or to support the foundation on behalf of a resident, family or friend, or for any cause that is special to the donor.

  • Purchased specialized walker “STEDYMATE WALKER II” to encourage residents to be active.

  • Purchased a defibrillator (AED) for the Home.

Plans for 2024-25

Raise $25,000 to purchase a Multipurpose wheelchair washer. This piece of equipment will enable the housekeeping staff to ensure that all resident’s wheel chairs or walkers are washed regularly.

UPDATE:

  • WE HAVE RAISED OVER $20 000.00 SO FAR.

We are a bit short but hope to have it ordered and delivered by mid-July.

  • Anyone or any group wishing to help us reach our goal by making a donation may contact:

Jacquie Bridges at 506-686-3019 (leave a voicemail if no answer) or by email: j.bridges@dnhome.ca

Plans for 2025-26

  •  Preparing the gardens for the summer

  •  Work on projects to subsidize a new adapted vehicle so that we can take the residents on outings.
